The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Acclaimed children's author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A representative for the firm stated: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was made after an investigation into reports of questionable actions directed at female individuals.

The publisher has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, stating: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books in total, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

From Screen to Page

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
