Two Charged Over Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Assault
Two individuals are now facing charges related to a luggage theft where a suspected pepper spray resulted in harm at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.
The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after exiting a car park lift, police said.
A toddler was one of the people hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
