Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday night. The athlete was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his management team confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
